I was invited to capture a beautiful wedding this August. Amber and Josh are wonderful people with such good hearts. Being there felt like being a part of their family. I had a wonderful time capturing their love on camera. Take a look at the sneak peek.

So I am privileged to have known Laura for a while and was so excited to photograph her wedding day. When she told me she had met someone in California I wished her the best, but knew that being long distance is never easy. And then I saw that she got engaged - and was SUPER excited for her. Her face beamed with excitement, a smile you'll see in many of the photos. And although I didn't meet Ryan until the day of the wedding, I could tell just by saying hi that he was great for Laura. Both following God's leading in their lives and knowing that they were going to be stronger together than they were by themselves - they had decided to commit their lives to one another. And in knowing Laura, I knew she had chosen well. The day went wonderfully. It was a bit cloudy in the morning, but the rain held off for us and presented a gorgeous day of love, life, and happiness that I'm sure will continue for them. Here's how I captured the day. (Beware, there are a LOT of photos, so just keep scrolling :)) A few last minute details. Sisters are truly the best. Congratulations Laura and Ryan and thanks so much for letting me be a part of your special day!
Well, we couldn't have asked for better weather in late November. The sunset was gorgeous at Boatwerks in Holland, MI and being on the water, with the love of their lives was just where Chelsea and Anthony wanted to be. Having been married in October in a land far, far away - okay not that far, but they still wanted to celebrate with those they love in Michigan. It was my pleasure to join them for an evening of romance, fun and re-living the memories of t heir wedding day all over again. We began with just the two of them and catching their love on camera outside... I couldn't decide which I like better, the color version or the black and white - so I'll let you choose which you prefer. Chelsea's smile lit up the whole evening with warmth, laughter and the obvious-ness of being in love. Then it was time to head inside to greet all of the lovely guests. So many wonderful people to share in this celebration. And time for the food. A little mood lighting. And he reeled her in for a kiss. Congratulations Chelsea and Anthony! I wish you the best and thank you so much for letting me celebrate with you, your friends and family!
Someone once told me it was good luck for it to rain on your wedding day - and as it rained on my special day, I like to think that is true. However, it doesn't always seem like good luck as it is happening, but something that I loved about this rainy wedding day, is that it didn't diminish the excitement at all. Rachel and Logan were so happy and excited to start their beautiful beginning. And this is how the day began... And when they were all dressed up, they were ready to see each other for the first time that day. And although it was cold outside, the rain did let up for an hour or so allowing us to great some more great photos of their special day. Rachel had the ring bearer give this note to Logan after he walked down the aisle, right before she was about to make her grand entrance. Loved this sweet idea! And as the guests waited for Rachel and Logan to dismiss them, there was a slide show for them all to enjoy. Great planning Rachel! (And I caught her sister enjoying the slide show as well). And off they were to begin their beautiful beginning! I had so much fun Rachel and Logan and loved every minute of capturing your special day. You and your families were so wonderful to work with! Blessings upon your marriage and your future life together :)
Well, it's always interesting to meet your bride on the day of the wedding, and even more interesting when the bride and groom's names are those of your actual brother and sister, but as I walked up to meet Audrey just before taking my first photos of the day, I could already tell she was a wonderful mom and a stunning bride. The day got off to a great start in Grand Rapids - a few delays, but most weddings don't go exactly as planned. Thankfully the weather stayed nice for us. Oh, and there were some crazy clouds alright, but in the midst of those were beautiful moments of sunshine and happiness. It's always great to keep light-hearted. And off to the ceremony and reception hall... Scott and Audrey, I wish you all the best. It was a pleasure to capture you, your adorable children and such a memorable day!
Well, the day started off just right. There was enough snow on the ground to cover it and make it white, but not sooo much that people would have a difficult time making it to the wedding. And mid-way through the day it snowed, a LOT. It was the perfect day in January for a wedding.
Kyle and Meghan originally met at school and spent countless hours working on a group project together. This is where they began to get to know each other a bit better. As their relationship progressed, they realized how "different" they were from each other. Meghan liked to read a good book for hours on end while Kyle wanted to go skydiving (okay so the examples are the extremes, but you get the idea). Throughout their relationship and the ups and downs that all relationships go through, they realized to enjoy these differences in each and that they complimented each other even better than they thought. This past year Meghan shared one of their favorite songs with me and I would have to agree, it describes their relationship very well. It was a joy to capture their day and the joy that surrounded every moment - and Kyle and Meghan, may you have many more snow covered kisses! |
